Judges Recognize Company in Excellence in Commercial Deployment by an Alternative Service Provider Category
London 12th May 2021 Ontix, the company delivering Next-generation wireless infrastructure-as-a-service, today announced that its pioneering work in delivering a neutral host solution across central London has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Commercial Deployment by an Alternative Service Provider category at the annual SCF Small Cell Awards, organised by Small Cell Forum.
Since June 2020 Ontix has deployed 5G-ready operator small cells across the heart of London in partnership with MNOs, Westminster City Council and the New West End Company (NWEC), a business partnership of 600 UK & international retailers, restaurateurs, hoteliers and property owners in London’s West End, the world’s top shopping and leisure destination. Ontix’ Metrohaul solution combines a neutral host and backhaul network which currently covers Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Bond Street, Regent Street and Oxford Street – Europe’s busiest shopping street.
The award winners will be announced on May 13th at a virtual awards ceremony as part of the Small Cells World Summit.
“The value in neutral host isn’t about the technology, it lies in moving beyond the theoretical and installing operational networks quickly in the places where they can provide the most value to operators and end-users,” said Barney Dickinson, COO of Ontix. “We are delighted that our deployment across central London has been recognised for such a high-profile, prestigious awards alongside such illustrious competition.”
